01 / Origin
Quoting work is easy when the information is perfect. It almost never is.
Real jobs do not arrive neatly packaged for software.
A customer may send a photograph, a blueprint, a rough description, a verbal summary or some combination of all of them.
Before a price can be produced, somebody has to work out what the job actually is, what needs to happen, what information is missing and how that should become a coherent commercial quote.
I wanted a system that could take the way real jobs actually arrive and turn that mess into something structured enough to act on.
That became Quote OS.
02 / The Problem
Real work rarely arrives as structured data.
The quotation process begins before a number is ever written down.
Images have to be understood.
Plans have to become job context.
Language has to become scope.
Incomplete information has to be organised into decisions, assumptions and work.
The difficult part is not generating a document.
It is turning fragmented information into something coherent enough to price and execute.
03 / The System
Quote OS creates a working model of the job before it creates the quote.
Quote OS brings the available job information into one structured process.
The system can begin with different forms of input, establish working context, support quotation and continue to hold operational information as the job progresses.
OPERATIONAL TRACE / QUOTE BUILD
+ STRUCTURE
Its core flow is:
CAPTURE → UNDERSTAND → STRUCTURE → QUOTE → TRACK
Across that flow, the system connects:
IMAGE · PLAN · LANGUAGE · WORK RECORD · HOURS · PROGRESS
The quotation is therefore not an isolated output.
It becomes part of the operating context of the job.
04 / Multimodal Input
The system starts with whatever information actually exists.
IMAGE
A photograph can become part of the working quotation context rather than remaining a passive attachment.
PLAN
Blueprints and drawings can enter the same process as job information.
LANGUAGE
A person can describe what needs doing without first translating the job into rigid software fields.
Different input forms can lead into the same structured workflow.
The system adapts to the information available instead of requiring the information to arrive perfectly structured.
05 / Operational Flow
A quote is not the end of the process. It is the first structured state of the job.
- 01 — INTAKEReal-world job information enters the system.
- 02 — INTERPRETATIONThe available material is organised into an intelligible working scope.
- 03 — QUOTATIONThe structured job context becomes an actionable commercial quotation.
- 04 — EXECUTIONProgress, journal information and recorded hours continue against the same working context.
- 05 — RECORDThe job retains a structured operational history rather than disappearing into disconnected documents and messages.
06 / In Use
Built for actual work, not demonstration.
Quote OS is a live operational system used by Ravenwood customers on a subscription basis. Access is provided through a monthly subscription that renews automatically until cancelled.

07 / Why It Matters
Quote OS is about quotation. The larger problem is converting unstructured reality into operational software.
Most real-world work begins outside software.
It begins with photographs, drawings, conversations, incomplete descriptions and human judgement.
Quote OS demonstrates a broader Ravenwood capability:
MULTIMODAL INPUT → STRUCTURED REASONING → OPERATIONAL WORKFLOW
The technology is valuable because it creates usable structure without requiring reality to arrive in database form first.
That problem exists far beyond quotation.
08 / Current State
LIVE IN USE
Quote OS is a completed operational system used in daily customer work.
It supports quotation, working job context, progress records, journal information and recorded hours as parts of the same operational workflow.
The system is not a prototype.
It is deployed technology built around real work.
